A story in precious form

Bespoke

At Laura Micheli Jewelry, we create bespoke jewellery in Zurich - unique pieces that carry the stories of love, friendship, and life's most meaningful moments. From custom engagement rings and wedding bands to personal talismans and sculptural jewels, every design is made to measure, crafted with and for you.

We work with stones of all kinds - whether diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, or a gem with personal meaning - selecting and setting each one with care to create a piece that truly reflects your story.

We would be delighted to welcome you into our central Zurich atelier. Begin with a conversation — in person or remotely — and we will take it from there.

A story in precious form

What can be made bespoke?

Every commission is different. These are the pieces most commonly made through the LMJ bespoke service.

Engagement rings - Designed around your partner —their style, the jewellery they wear, the way they carry themselves.

Wedding bands - Bespoke wedding rings made to sit perfectly alongside an engagement ring, or designed as a freestanding piece in their own right.

Anniversary and milestone pieces - Some occasions deserve a piece that could only ever belong to one person. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings designed around the person and the moment.

Personal commissions - For when you have looked everywhere and not found quite the right thing.

Sometimes the most meaningful commissions begin with something you already own. Inherited gold, a family stone, a piece that no longer suits who you are. If your commission begins with inherited or unworn gold, visit our Old Gold Jewelry Redesign service.

How the process works

Most projects take between six and ten weeks from the initial consultation to delivery.

1. Conversation

Your first meeting is not about choosing a design. It is about understanding what you need - the person, the occasion, the feeling you are after. Bring whatever you have, or nothing at all.

2. Design direction and model

A design concept is developed through sketches, references, and material samples. A model is then prepared so you can assess the shape, scale, and proportion of the piece before production begins. We refine the design together until it feels right.

3. Production

Once the design is approved, the piece is handcrafted in Zurich. This can take 3 to 4 weeks depending on complexity.

4. Delivery

The finished piece is presented at the atelier, or shipped securely if you are not based in Zurich. We remain available after delivery for cleaning, checking, or any questions.

Questions before your consultation

These are the questions clients most often ask before a first consultation.

Do I need to know what I want before getting in touch?

No. Most commissions begin without a finished idea. A feeling, a person, an occasion, or a material is enough to start. The design comes from the conversation.

Can I use old gold or an inherited piece?

Yes. Existing gold and stones can both be incorporated into a new commission. If you have inherited jewellery or pieces no longer being worn, those materials can become the foundation of the new piece. This is handled through the Old Gold Redesign service - the process is the same, the starting point is different.

How long does a bespoke piece take?

6 to 10 weeks from design approval. Allow around three months from first conversation to delivery, particularly for engagement rings or wedding bands with a fixed date attached.

What does a bespoke piece cost?

Cost depends on the material, the stone (if any), and the complexity of the making. We can work around a budget and give you realistic expectations from the start.
